Mother’s Day is just around the corner on,Sunday,May 13th. I know I enjoy tulips and now that we have fresh-from-the field tulips from LeMera Gardens in Ashland,what better way to add that beautiful spring touch to your table? Or,how about some blooming branches!

What would I like for Mother’s Day? Anything arranged with LeMera Garden organic flowers or how about a beautiful hanging plant from the Ashland Greenhouses? And for that special card,we have Alana Starkweather’s beautiful cards –she grows the flowers and then turns the pictures she takes into beautiful keepsake cards. You can even buy sets now! Another thought for Mother’s Day –how about a beautiful handcrafted corsage by Cindy;always lovely and a wonderful gift.

Don’t forget,5th Street Flowers will be selling,tulips and spring posies at the Eden Valley New Heritage Public Market at Eden Valley Orchards on Satudays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Drop by and pick up a bunch of tulips or a posey to brighten your weekend!

FUN SPRING FLOWER FACTS

Spring is here!! One day its sunny and breezy and the next day its cold &rainy or even snowing!! At 5th Street flowers we are excited about the lovely new assortment of spring flowers arriving each week. We are starting to see:Jumbo Ranuculus,Tulips,Anemones,and blooming branches. We are adding new &fun flowers &colors every day. But for fun today,here are a few Daffodil facts:

1.Daffodils originated in south west Europe.

2. There are 25,000 varieties of Daffodils.

3. All parts of the Daffodil are poisonous &when using Daff’s in arrangments they should be set in their own vase and water for 24 hours before combining with other flowers.

Daffodils are the national emblem of Wales and Prince Charles is paid 1 Daffodil a year as rent for his properties off of the coast of Cornwall! Don’t forget our Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Celebration –our giveaways will be starting at the end of April. Stay in touch!!

SPRINGTIME SPLENDOR

Spring is here! Our new doggy friend Bowser is settling in and he is an absolute joy!

So what’s new with us? We still have lovely bulb gardens that are made right here in Oregon,they are beautiful! We will soon have our own homemade herb gardens in too. Cindy and I are trying to keep finding new and wonderful flowers to inspire your design skills. Hopefully,our dear friend Joan Thorndyke,of LeMera Gardens,will start delivering soon. If you haven’t tried Joan’s beautiful,locally grown,organic flowers,this spring and summer will be the perfect time to give them a try. They are simply the best.

Spring branches such as Forsythia are now available,as well as,Oregon field tulips. We try and find something new each week,so come in for a peek and if you haven’t seen Bowser,what can I say!!!!! He’s too cute!!
