My earliest memories are of smelling flowers in my mother’s flower beds. She was an avid gardener and landscape designer. By the age of 4 she was teaching me the botanical names of flowers and by 10 I was designing my own dish gardens and terrariums. It wasn’t until I discovered the joy of cooking that I began designing herb gardens both indoors and out. Later I began to experiment with flower designs incorporating herbs. This passion led to a career change from a technical writer to the floral industry. Out of this change came the idea to open a small, innovative flower shop with a focus on simplicity and elegance incorporating branches, herbs, and different floral materials than in traditional floral work.
